EXTENSIVE PACIFIC MANCEUVRES TRAVERSING SEVERAL JAPANESE MANDATED ISLANDS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright WASHINGTON, February 22. The navy- announced that the manoeuvres in March would cover from 11,000,000 to 12,000,000 square miles of the Pacific from Hawaii to Midway Islands, and from Alaska and the Aleutians to Samoa. One hundred and fifty warships, 500 aeroplanes, 3,600 officers and 55,000 ratings would be involved. It is indicated that these will be the most southerly manoeuvres ever made by the American navy, and they will traverse areas of several Japanese mandated islands.
