METHODIST CHURCH CONCERN [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, February 21. The annual conference of the Methodist Church was continued today, when reports on mission work in the Dominion were considered. The report on the Maori mission work referred to the increase in the Maori population, and recommended a new emphasis oii mission work. The liquor problem, remained acute, and there was need for a stiffening of the forces working against it, the report stated. There was a shortage of Maori students for the ministry, and funds were needed to enable students to take the course. Resolutions were passed askin'! for the strict enforcement of the liquor laws relating to the supply of liquor to Maoris and approving of co-operation with other churches in their efforts to check the illegal supply of liquor.
