COMPETITION The annual pairs tournament was com tinned yesterday afternoon at . Park with the completion of several games in the first, round arid the playing of the second round. At the official opening the president .of the association (Mrs Sparrow) made reference' .to the sudden death of Mrs Philip, of the Kaikorai Club, who was to nave been a competitor in the annual fixture. As ai mark of respect to her memory the flayers stood in silence for a inmute and the flag over the pavilion was flown at half-mast for an hour. Results;— No. 1 GREEN. SECTION A. —First Round.—.
