MONDAY, FEBRUARY 14. (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) INTOXICATED MOTORIST. James Alfred Boreham, charged with drunkenness and with having been intoxicated while in charge of a motor car, pleaded guilty to both charges, and asked for a remand to enable him to obtain the services of ebunsel. Sergeant Lean said that accused, apparently drunk, was seen to be in charge of a car in Clyde street, and was afterwards traced to Tomahawk, where he was arrested on a charge of drunkenness. Accused was remanded until Wednesday, bail being fixed in his own recognisance of £2O, conditions being that he report daily to the police and refrain from using his car in the meantime. DRUNKENNESS. On a charge of drunkenness a first offender who did not appear was fined 20s, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment. MAINTENANCE. John Peter Pinlayson, who was proceeded against on a complaint for default of maintenance, the arrears to date being £55 ss, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended on condition that defendant paid £5 on or before February 28, £5 each succeeding month until the arrears were paid, and reported to the police at Kurow. Ralph Martindale was preceded against on a complaint for separation, maintenance, and guardianship orders. After evidence had been taken an order for maintenance at £2 a week was made, guardianship of the two children to he with the wife, the husband to have reasonable access.
