WELL-KNOWN!
DEANNA DURBIN'S FAN MAIL Postal clerks all over the world must be movie addicts, for when little Lucille Cartright, in Auckland, New Zealand, despatched a letter to Deanna Durbin, and in her haste used only the child star’s name, without any other address on the envelope, the communication went unerringly to Universal studios. The letter requested Deanna to send an autographed photograph to “a lonely little girl, who thinks the things you are doing are very wonderful.” The volume of fan mail received by Miss Durbin rapidly is _ approaching that received by Mary Pickford when she was at the height of her fame as an actress.
