TITLED COALMAN
A HAPPY BAROHET Probably the only titled coalman in Britain is Sir Frederick George Dunbar, Bt., who now earns a modest livelihood at Nairn with two motor lorries as a haulage contractor and coal retailer. And he is happy. For years after succeeding to the title he sold coal in the streets from a horse-drawn lorry. Now he employs men to do this part of the work—but Sir Frederick helps to fill and weigh the bags of coal before the men set out on their rounds. “ I am not worrying about the family estates or my changed position in life,” he said. “ Taxation and overhead expenses have made the ownership of estates too difficult. “ I am probably the only titled coalman in Britain but my wife and I are happy. “ When I started to sell coal people expressed sympathy with me. _ I replied that a man who earns his living should be proud of himself. “ I earn a modest livelihood', enough to provide for my wife and myself. I have good kind friends and good health —so what more, could a man wish?” _ Sir Frederick Dunbar succeeded his brother 37 years ago. He is 63 years of age.
