BURKES-ST. LEONARDS REGATTA

The Burkea-St. Leonards Regatta Committee has completed its arrangements for its annual function, to be held to-morrow. As this is a. sixtieth year commemorative regatta increased prize money is being offered. The programme consists of four sailing races, six rowing races, and two motor boat races. Twenty-nine entries have been received for rowing, 37 entries for sailing, and 17 entries for motor boats.. There are also model yacht races in three classes and a canoe race. The West Harbour Municipal Band will be in - attendance, and afternoon tea arrangements are in the hands of a ladies’ committee. The public can be assured of a pleasant afternoon’s sport at this popular fixture. Trains from Dunedin leave at 12.55, 1.40, and 2.30, and a bus leaves the Queen’s Gardens at 2. A dance will be held in the evening, when the presentation of prizes will take place.
