OTAGO CINE-PHOTOGRAPHIC CLUB
Dr A. J. Cottrell presiled over a large meeting of the Otago Cine-Photo-graphic Club held iu the University club rooms on Monday evening. Members were invited to bring their holiday films to the meeting, when Mr J. Welsh, the club’s competition judge, offered some constructive criticism. The quality of the films submitted for criticism (12 in number) was of a high standard. Some of the colour films in particular were excellent, while the blank and white films, quite a few of which were taken by novices, were good. A wide divergence of subjects was screened, from purely family pictures to outings and scenic trips, both to the beaches and bush, and, while many were taken on th© smallest size—namely, Bmm, the judge stated lie was surprised at the results achieved, the general technique comparing very favourably with standard size films made by professional photographers.
