WEATHER FORECAST
FINE AND WARM The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Half moon Bay:— An anti-cyclone now covers the Tasman Sea and extends on to the Dominion. Forecast:; Eight to moderate westerly wind prevailing; weather fine and warm; seas slight to moderate. • SUNSHINE CONTINUES. Brilliant sunshine was again experienced this morning, and conditions were made more pleasant by the fact that the wind had dropped to a Tight north-east breeze. This morning’s maximum temperature was 72.4 deg, compared 'with 74.8 for the. 24-hour period yesterday, and the lowest readings were 67.2 deg to-day and 50deg yesterday. At noon the barometer was rising at 29.95 in, and prospects were for a continuation of existing bright weather. There has been no rain since Saturday morning.
