WEATHER FORECAST
FAIR AND WARM The following weather forecast issued at noon by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, covering the southern districts—-Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Halfmoon Bay:— An intense anti-cyclone is still centred east of the South Island, but pressure is falling to the north, and i» low over most of Australia. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, with north-easterlies predominating. Weather fair and warm, with ’ some morning fogs. Seas slight to moderate, SUNNY AND WARM. Though the heat was not so great today as yesterday, bright sunshine and warm temperatures made conditions in Dunedin this morning most pleasant, there being an almost total absence of wind. Only a very light north-easterly breeze was in evidence. Barometrio pressure was steady in the city, at 30.25 in, while the respective maximum and minimum thermometer recordings at the Gardens at noon were 73.2 deg and 69.8 deg, as oopared with 76.5 deg and 54.3 deg over a period of 24 hour* yesterday. •
