WELLINGTON PAYMENTS

HIGHEST SINCE 1914 [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON; February 3. A record payment since 1914 was made by the shipping companies to watersiders at Wellington to-day. The payment totalled £11,783 for a week’s work to 1,538 men, an average of £7 13s 2d. The previous highest total was in March of last year, when £9,213 was paid out in one week. The. total payment does not include payment for Harbour Board employees.
