SCHOOLS TENNIS

PRIMARY PUPILS' TOURNAMENT FINALS NEXT SATURDAY ; No fewer than 109 entries were received for the primary schools’ tennis tournament, which was commenced under ideal weather conditions at the Logan Park courts on Saturday morning. Pupils competing were from all the Dunedin primary schools, while entries were also received from schools as far noi;th as Waitati, and from Concord and Green Island. As the courts were not available in the afternoon the semi-finals and finals will not be played till next Saturday. The tournament was capably controlled by a staff of officials, those in charge (Messrs Hanna, Booth, and Clemens) being ably assisted by a number of other teachers and Training College students, who acted as umpires.
