The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited has received the following advice from its London house under date 26th instant; —The sixth series closed to-day; 73,000 bales were offered, 54,000 sold. Yorkshire and the Continent were the chief buyers. Prices as compared with fifth series were 3d to 4d per lb lower for medium and inferior merino, inferior scoured merino, and lambs’ wool; 4d per lb lower for super greasy merino and coarse scoured cross-bred; 4d to 6d per lb lower for super and medium scoured merino, medium cross-bred, and coarse greasy cross-breds; 5d per lb lower for fine cross-bred; 6d to 6d per I.> lower for, medium and coarse cross-bred slipc; 6d to 7d per lb lower for fine cross-bred slipe. Market weak, with little prospect of improvement. The demand for seats for Miss Lily Stevens’s recital at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday afternoon and evening next is plainly evident by the large booking.
