A HOLIDAY IN TASMANIA

Nature lias been very kind to Tasmania. The keynote to its attractions is variety. There are shapely mountains, wild canyons, smiling farm lands, hop gardens and orchards, historic ruins, forests, lakes of surprising beauty, waterfalls galore, broken coastlines and gleaming sea beaches, and unlimited- opportunities for sport and recreation. Hobart, the capital, ” a city beautiful ’noath a mighty mountain,” offers, an abundance of entrancing places in which to pass a real holiday. An opportunity of a direct visit to Tasmania from New Zealand is announced in this issue, when the Mannganui will leave Wellington on Saturday, January 15, and Bluff on Monday, January 17, for Hobart, arriving there on Friday, January 21. The Mannganui will call at Hobart agiiin on Friday, February 11, returning to New Zealand by way of Melbourne, arriving there on Sunday, February 13. She will leave Melbourne on Wednesday, February 16, for New Zealand, calling at Bluff February 20, Dunedin February 22, Lyttelton February 24. and Wellington February 25. Passengers may thus spend three weeks in Tasmania and also two days in Melbourne, or if they wish proceed overland from Hobart to Launceston, Devonport, or Burnie, and so to Melbourne by the interstate steamers Taroona or Nairana, Weather and other circumstances permitting, the Mannganui will call at Milford Sound ou the way from Bluff to Hobarf and also between Melbourne and Bluff.
