THE A.C.E. RECIPE
GOOSEBERRY FOOL Gooseberries, 2 cups cooked. Cream, one-third cup. Milk, half pint. Eggs, one. Sugar, three-quarter ounce. Cornflour, one ounce. Salt, pinch. Method: Make a custard of the milk, cornflour, sugar, and egg. Set to cool. Strain berries and mash to a pulp. Then add to custard. Whip cream stiffly; mix with custard and serve cold, WJVWVVWiVUVVVVVWA
