ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS

PRIMARY EXAMINATION IN DUNEDIN In 1934, for the first time, the primary examination for the Royal College of Surgeons of England was held in Dunedin, and the same examination was held simultaneously in Sydney and Melbourne. A similar arrangement has been made this year, and the examination will commence on Monday morning at the University of Otago. There are 14 candidates, four of whom hold the full medical qualification of the University of New Zealand, whilst the remainder have completed the first professional examination. The written examinations will be held on Monday and Tuesday, but tho viva voce examinations will not take place until Thursday, December 16. The examiner in anatomy is Mr Cecil P. G. Wake ley, D.Sc., F.R.C.S., and the examiner in physiology is Professor A. St. George' Huggett, D.Sc. Tho examiners arrived in New Zealand by the Awatea after completing the examination in Melbourne and Sydney. In January they will conduct another examination in Bombay and in Cairo, and expect to return to England early in February.
