‘THE SHINING HOUR'
REPERTORY SOCIETY'S SUCCESS The Dunedin Repertory Society scored a signal success again last evening at His Majesty’s Theatre with its presentation of Keith Winter’s three-act-drama ‘The Shining Hour,” the small hut select company giving another outstanding performance before a large audience. The play affords plenty of opportunity for the producer (Miss Bessie Thomson) and the players alike, and the high standard reached by the whole cast was responsible for a- noteworthy entertainment. Miss Dorothy Clark, cast as Mariella, gave a charming portrayal, her work throughout, being marked by sincerity and poise. Mr Les Pithie, as David, was most convincing in an unusually exacting part. Miss Mercia Hardman gave a most competent and rounded performance. Excellent _ portrayals were also given by Miss Elsie M'Peak. Mr Roland Watson, and Mr Frank Lanyon. ‘ The Shining Hour ’is most effectively staged, the stage management and production being excellent. The play will he presented again tonight and to-morrow evening..
