DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE %■ ■ AUSTRALIAN MINING RECEDES INDUSTRIALS REMAIN FIRM The recovery apparent yesterday in Australian mining was not destined to be lasting, all shares being marked down this morning, and an average decline of 9d per share being recorded. These declines wore less noticeable in industrials, Broken Hill Proprietary, fully paid, shewing a seller’s advance of 6d with no buyer, and rights remaining unchanged. G. J. Coles, however, dropped Is, and a sale was reported as low as £4 Is 9d. Banking quotations remained unchanged, and one sale ol New Zealands was affected after call at £2 4s Bd. In the meat preserving, Southland Frozen fully paid advanced 3d on seller’s price to £1 8s 3d, with buyers standing Is away. Waitaki Freezings showed an advance both cm buyer’s and seller’s price. Loan and Agency were steady at recent rates, and Guarantee Corporation increased by 2d. In the miscellaneous section Australian industrials were slightly firmer with tho exception of G. J. Coles, which eased. British Tobaccos showed an increase of Is. New Zealand industrials remained steady. New Zealand Breweries suffered a further setback, quotations closing at £2 4s 9d and £2 ss.
