STERILISATION OF THE UNFIT URGED BY BISHOP OF BIRMINGHAM Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 25. Sterilisation of the unfit was urged by the Bishop of Birmingham, Dr Barnes, who said too few children were born, hut an increasing percentage were mentally and physically tainted. The numbers certified insane in Britain wore rising. Birth control was universal except among persons of low intelligence and Catholics. Mental defectives had no moral sense, and produced children who ought not to have been born-_ To end this scandal they must be sterilised.
