‘THE SHINING HOUR'
SHOW WEEK ATTRACTION Keith Winter’s engrossing domestic drama, to bo staged by the Dunedin Repertory Society during Show Week, was an outstanding success when played in London and New York. Unfortunately when it was presented hero some 18 months ago, it was only possible to show it for ono night, owing to the scenery having to be shipped to Australia at short notice, and as so many people were thus disappointed in not seeing it, tho Repertory Society took this fact into consideration when selecting it as its next production. Iho play contains all the elements of good entertainment, and should make fresh history in the annals of successful amateur work, which, as far as Dunedin is concerned, has already reached a high standard of excellence. ‘ The Shining Hour ’ is an extremely clever play, with strong dramatic situations and an undercurrent of tragedy, relieved throughout by delightful comedy. An experienced and # well-bal-anced cast has been selected in Misses Dorothy Clarke, Mercia Hardman, Elsie M'Peak, Messrs Frank Danyon, Roland Watson, and Leslie Pithie. The dates are November 24, 25, 26, and 27, at His Majesty’s Theatre. Bos plans are now open at tho D.I.C.
