SHOW WEEK ATTRACTION
• THE SHINING HOUR ’ Many successes have been presented by the Dunedin Repertory Society since its inception four years ago, and it is confidently expected that the coming production of 1 The Shining Hour ’ will be well up to past standards. It is an intensely engrossing play, and will provide a refreshing change from the tense drama- of ‘ Libel ’ and the period play ‘ And So To Bed,’ both of which created such a favourable impression when they were presented recently by the society. 1 The Shining Hour ’ deals with an eddy of passion in an old Yorkshire farm house, and depends for its success o,n the reactions of people with widely divergent views living in close proximity on one another’s emotions and lives. The central character in the play is Mariella, the beautiful wife of the eldest son, who arrives on a visit to this peaceful country house with devastating effects upon its inmates. This intriguing drama has created a profound impression wherever it has been played, and as Miss Bessie Thomson is to produce the play, in conjunction with a very competent cast, theatregoers can be assured of an eminently satisfying production. The season opens on November 24, and will continue for four nights, and tho box plans are now open at the D.1.C.;
