What is described as a new sack murder was revealed near Mayborough, 112 miles north-west of Melbourne. The body of an elderly _ unidentified man tied in a sack weighted with stones was recovered from _ the _ local reservoir. There was a gaping injury on the man’s head, and his legs were tied in two places. His beret was pulled over his head. The body had been in the water for some time. FOUL PLAY DISCOUNTED.

MELBOURNE, November 16. (Received November 16, at 1 p.m.) After a post-mortem examination of the body of the man found in a sack at Maryborough the police discounted the theory of foul play. Death was duo to drowning. The, man’s wounds were not due to violence. Apparently the man tied himself in the sack and rolled into the water.
