RIVAL CLAIMS

POST OFFICE FACILITIES TAINOI AND ANDERSON'S BAY The rival claims of Tainui and Anderson’s Bay for a post office have resulted in a decision by the Government being held up. “ We have had representations from • Tainui residents that the post office should be at the corner of Cavell street and Musselburgh Rise, and, since that request was made, a petition has been received from Anderson’s Bay that the present facilities should not be shifted, and that, if a new and enlarged office is to be built, it should be erected on a section owned by the department at the tram terminus,” said the Post-master-General (Hon. F. Jones) this morning, when discussing the latest developments with the ‘ Star.’ No decision had yet been made, said Mr Jones, as to whether or not any additional facilities could and should be provided at Tainui.
