SHAKESPEARE CLUB

Julius Caesar will be road by members of the Dunedin Shakespeare Club to-morrow evening in His Majesty’s Theatre, at the club’s first reading of its 61st season. The society’s choice on this occasion will be a welcome one, as the play has always proved one of the most popular of the great poet’s works. The gripping reality of this tale of Rome in the great days of the Caesars has set a standard in historical drama. A strong cast of readers has been selected, and patrons are assured of an excellent interpretation of this immortal play, and an enjoyable evening’s entertainment. The readers include Mesdames Withers and Murray, Misses Hoseit and Townsend, and Messrs H. W. Hunter, N. McKinlay, M. Joel, A. F. Lanyon, D. C. Rose, F. P. Evans, S. E. Mee, C. N. B. French, J. W. Hayward and Rev. C. H. Olds. An added attraction will be provided by vocal solos rendered by Miss Dorothy Mackey. Box plan arrangements are advertised.
