LARGE EXPANSION REVEALED BOARD R€TMNB FOR OCTOBER Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 13. A further large expansion in overseas trad© was revealed in the Hoard of Trade returns for October. The imports amounted to £96,065,427, the exports to £47,216,048, and the re-ex-ports to £5,698,531. Twelve months ago the imports were valued 531,920, the exports at £41,764,413, andi the re-exports at* £4,560,180. For 10 months of 1937 the imports, totalling £837,940,598, represent an . increase of £149,831,635 on the^ previous year. The exports totalled £432,858,531, which is an increase of £71,072,519 on 1936, and the re-exports £66,012,748, an increase of £14,750,075. IMftNtTS m EXfMTS LONDON, November 14. (Received November 15, at 11 a.m.) Hie Board of Trade returns for October show that the imports amounted to £96,085,000, tho exports to £47,216,000 and the re-exports to £5,698,000. The principal increases compared with October last year were imports: Gram and flour £1,121,000, meat £1,161,000, dairy produce £1,039,000, fresh fruit and vegetables £1.069,000, non-ferrous ores and scrap £785,000, wood and timber £1,751,000, wool and. raw waste £914,000, rubber £906,000, iron and steel manufactures £1,381,000, non-fer-rous metals £1,626.000. Exports: Coal £983,000, iron and steel manufactures £1,144,000, ’ non-ferrous metals and manufactures £923,000, machinery £1,060,000. Re-exports: Non-ferrous metals and manufactures £935,000. The principal decreases were Exports : Wool and raw waste £253,000.
