(Received November 13, at 8 a.m.) Chinese reports state that 80 Japanese transports, with 50,000 troops aboard, are standing by off Woosung in readiness to complete the occupation of the entire Shanghai area. BRITISH AND JAPANESE TENSION ON BORDER OF SETTLEMENT. TOKIO, November 12. Tension between British troops guarding the border of the Settlement in Shanghai and Japanese forces is reported by the Domei News Agency, which claims it was due to the action of the British in intercepting a Japanese boat carrying supplies to the front on Soochow Creek. The Japanese stated that they made a protest to the British authorities. MISSION HOSPITAL STRUCK BY BOMBS NANKING, November 12. (Received November 13, at 11.5 a.m.) Japanese air bombs struck the American Church Mission’s hospital at Wusih, 70 iniles from Shanghai, killing two Chinese and injuring several. There were no American casualties. A REPORT DENIED TOKIO, November 12. (Received November 13, at 11 a.m.) The British Ambassador, Sir Robert Craigie, denied the reports that the British Government had authorised the Commanderdn-ohief at Shanghai to repel the Japanese in the event of an attack on the International Settlement. AMERICA'S ATTITUDE NEW YORK, November 12. (Received November 13, at 11.5 a.m.) The Washington correspondent of the United Press says the United States is prepared to join other nations in a vigorous protest if Japan attempts to control the Shanghai International Settlement. It is understood that the United States has no intention of withdrawing her, troops, despite the possibilities of a clash with Japan. MEDICAL SUPPLIES FROM ENGLAND (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, November 12. (Received November 13, at 11 a.m.) The second consignment of medical supplies has been despatched from London by the Lord Mayor's fund for the relief of distress in China. Surgical instruments and dressing to the value of some £6,000 follow next Friday.
