SOUTH DUNEDIN JUBILEE CONTINUED The fiftieth anniversary celebrations of the South Dunedin Baptist’Church were continued last night, when a social evening was held, at which various speakers referred to.the progress of the church since its inception. The Rev. H. R. Turner presided over a large attendance. Reminiscences of their associations with the church over a long period were given by Messrs W. Ashton. G. Wix, J. Bond, A. Ockwcll, F. Broadbent, E. Carter, D. Robb, Mrs Turner, Mrs Welsh, and Miss L. Ings. Each of the speakers referred to the pleasant friendships which had been formed at the church, and a number

of humorous episodes were recalled which the gathering fully appreciated. Messages of congratulation from tha North-east Valley Baptists were conveyed to the meeting by the Rev. J. Reid, and Mr Andrew Johnston, tha Wind evangelist, also congratulated the church on the successful nature of the celebrations. Musical items were rendered during the evening as follows:—Solo, Mrs A, L. Scott; recitation, Miss Olga Johnston; and the choir, under the conductorship of Mr C. J. Darracott, wai heard in the numbers ‘He That Dwelleth,’ ‘ From Every Stormy Wind,’ ‘Gloria in Escelsis,* ‘Trees/ and ‘ I Am Alpha and Omega.’
