GOLD AW CHANGEABLE The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay;— Pressure is low to the south-east of the Dominion, but an anti-cyclone still covers the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Strong south-westerly winds, of gale force in places. Weather cold and ■■langoable, with scattered showers. Seas rough. ’’ WIND BRINGS A CHANGE. The high south-west wind that hat been blowing unceasingly for three days brought a change in the weather this morning, the slry being overcast and threatening from early mofhiiig. There were several slight showers towards, noon, and indications were that the afternoon would be wet, the barometer falling at 30in. The maximum and minimum temperatures at midday were G2deg and 49deg respectively. Yesterday’s recordings were' 70.5 deg _ and 45!3deg. Yesterday was beautifully fine, but was spoilt by the persistent wind. ......
