ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
CHILD DROWNED IN CREEK. A child aged one year and eight months, James' Kenneth Dodge, a son of Mr J. R. Dodge, of Ohapuku, near Kaiapoi, was accidentally drowned in a creek on his father’s farm yesterday. The child was following the father, who was attending cattle. He fell into the creek, which was covered with grass, and was not found till, about a quarter of an hour after his disappearance was noted. ' NAIL IN FOOT. As a result of standing on a nail at Clyde Hill, where he was worthing, William Gillian, who resides at 172 Albany street, was admitted to the hospital at 7 p.m. yesterday with an injury to the right foot. INJURIES TO ARM. Albert Woolford, who resides at 51 Reid road. South Dunedin, fell from a lorry in Wharf street yesterday afternoon, a wheel passing over his arm. He was admitted to the Hospital at 4.45 p.m. suffering from a lacerated right arm and shock, YOUNG GIRL FOUND SHOT. An Ashburton Association message states that Cora Lyell Berry (15) was found shot in her bedroom at her parents' home at Mayfiield last night. There was a bullet wound in her forehead, and a .22 rifle was beside the body. CYCLIST INJURED. Abrasions to the face and shock were suffered by Robert Cooner, who resides at 14 Baker street, this after"noon when, he collided with a stationary motor car while riding a cycle along Crawford street. He was admitted to the Hospital at 12.20 p.m.
