Tie observation that it vvould.be wis* for the football authorities to formulate a rule to prevent the return to the field of players who suffered head injuries was made by the coroner, Mr G. H. Morrish, when giving his verdict at the resumed inquest into the death oof Angus Colin M'Lean, who died on August 1 following an injury in a junior football match. _ The verdict was that the deceased died from cerebral compression following head injuries accidentally received when playing football. The coroner remarked that the witnesses were unanimous that the game was cleanly fought. There was no evidence to suggest that the deceased wa* struck by a fist other than a statement by the deceased’s father.
