SCHOOL SPORTS

ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING BIG ENTRIES AND KEEN COMPETITION Under conditions that could hardly have been bettered, the Otago State Primary Schools’ Sports Association comimenoed its annual schools’ championship sports meeting at Logan Park this morning. Forty-six schools (participated in the various events, and the big fields of competitors included delegates from schools as far north as Waitaki Bridge, as far south as Greenfield, and as far inland as Omakau. The running of each event was greeted with remarkable enthusiasm, and while the partisan spirit naturally was strong, competitors from more distant schools who were less strongly supported by representative “ barrackers ” received unstinted acclamations when they appeared.
