SUSTENANCE FRAUDS
TWO MEN SENT TO GAOL [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, October 15. Geoffrey Shaw, who was stated by the prosecution to have made 77 false declarations and to have received an excess of £99 in sustenance payments, was to-day fined £IOO for making a false declaration, and on a further charge of false pretences ho was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment. Robert David Buckeridge, charged with making a false declaration and failing to disclose his earnings, was fined £ll on one charge and sentenced to 14 days on the other.
