LONDON WEST END REVUE

BERTRAM MONTAGUE COMPANY The only London West End Revue Company ever to be imported in its entirety to the Dominion, the' Bertram Montague Show, will open a fortnight’s Dunedin season at His Majesty’s Theatre on Saturday, October 23. All the features that delighted London audiences will. be staged in Dunedin, and the success which this popular revue has enjoyed in South Africa, Australia, and other New Zealand centres assures it an outstanding local season. The first production will be ‘ Let’s Go Places,’ an entertainment of song, music, danoe, and comedy, including several extraordinary and colourful spectacles. The second week the company will present ‘ This Year of Carnival.’ This brilliant company is headed by the famous English comedian, George Doonan, described as “ the life and soul of the party.” With him appears the vivacious and popular comedienne, Catherine Stewart. One of the outstanding features of the revue is the Darmora Troupe of Hungarian Dancers from Budapest. Each of the 12 girls is a star in her own right, and Madame Darmora, who trains them and originates all their numbers, herself appears with the ballet. The ’ troupe's performance of the ‘Can Can’ dance is said to be sensational. Other performers are Jewell and Warriss, irrepressible mirthmakers; the Blenders, stars of stage, screen, and radio, whose melodious singing of popular numbers has been a great hit with all audiences; the Dawn Sisters, hilarious burlesque dancers from America; the Two Rogues, celebrated screen comedians who appeared with Jack Buchanan in ‘Brewster’s Millions’ and Jessie Matthews in ‘Evergreen’; Margaret Kelly, whose beautiful soprano. voice

materially enhances the musical side of the company; and Alma Mackie, a clever dancer. There is also a ballet of 30 specially-chosen girls. * Let’s Go Places ’ is presented on exactly the same scale as it appeared in London, with the same scenes, stars, costumes, dances, songs, comedy, and music that mode it one of the most popular revues to appear in the West End last season.

.It is presented by Sir Benjamin Fuller in association with Mr Bertram Montague, of London.
