REDUCTION OF BULK CHARGES SOUGHT DOMHIItN AWARD FOR EMPLOYEES FAVOURED [Pm United Pbms Association.] WELLINGTON, October 14. At a conference to-day of the electric power boards and supply authonties of New Zealand it was decided to ask the Government to reduce the bulk supply charges, to establish a special fund from which the loan requirements of local bodies could be met at statutory rate of interest, and to provide legislation making it possible for power boards to raise without a poll of ratepayers loans for advances to consumers. By 61 votes to 15 it was decided in favour of a Dominion award for the employees of all board authorities. Opposition to this remit came from representatives of boards chiefly in Canterbury and Taranaki who have already secured district awards.
