RED CROSS APPEAL

URGENCY CONFIRMED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 15. The New Zealand Red Cross reports that the following cables have been received in regard to the appeal for China:—

From the League of Red Cross Societies in Paris: The international Red Cross Committee, communicates the following from Shanghai:—Confirm the urgency of the need. We are forwarding a detailed list of requirements. All the committees are working with the Chinese Red Cross and the Health Minister. and they guarantee the distribution. Accordingly advise despatch to Nanking via Shanghai. From the Australian Red Cross: We are contributing canvas for 1,000 stretchers and approximately 200 instruments. Volunteers for personnel and money contributions, are being invited through the Press.
