NEW TRADE AGREEMENT
APPRECIATION IN GERMANY FAILURE OF AUSTRALIAN NEGOTIATIONS DEPLORED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 8. (Received October 9, at 8 a.m.) The Associated Press’s Berlin correspondent reports that the Press praises the German-New Zealand agreement, but deplores the failure of an understanding with Australia, which would find it profitable to arrange a treaty basis with any important customer and supplier. The ‘ Deutsche Bergwerks Zeitung,’ of Dusseldorf, comments that Germany has arranged to increase her purchases of wool from South Africa and from New Zealand, since the efforts to induce Australia to come to an. understanding have been fruitless.
