EMPIRE AIR ROUTES

ENGLAND TO FAR EAST SERVICE ACROSS CANADA. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 8. An air route from England to the Far East via the Atlantic, Canada, and the Pacific is envisaged by Mr S. J. Hungerford, chairman of the Canadian National Railways and president of the trans-Canada airlines. He said that within a year a daily air service would be in operation across Canada. It was almost inevitable that Canada would be joined up with a company in the Far East, probably via Alaska and the Behring Straits. By this means 3,000 miles would be saved oyer the American route across the Pacific, It would be easy to link up Canada and the Atlantic by means of flying boats.
