FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8, (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) BREACH OF PROHIBITION ORDER. “ This man does not deserve any consideration at all, a constable who was called to his home when he was under the influence of liquor hearing him call his mother disgusting names,” said Senior-sergeant Packer .of William Albert Pauley, who admitted a breach of a prohibition order. Pauley was warned that he was liable to be sent to'Roto Roa Island, and was fined 10s and costs. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. ,c The defendant went to a dance at the Town Hall on August 28, purchased a ticket, under the influence of liquor, and used language to the doorkeeper, when asked to leave the hall,” said Senior-sergeant Packer when Lloyd Thomas Sims pleaded guilty to a charge of obscene language. Mr J. Warrington said that the day of the offence was Sims’s birthday, and he now keenly regretted his lapse. _ He was willing to take out a prohibition order. . The Magistrate warned Sims that if ho appeared before the court again he would be sent to gaol. For being on licensed premises after hours Robert Varley, James Hill, Arthur Main, Frederick Robert M'Knight, Charles Wilkie M'Murray, Edgar John Reynolds, and John Treaves were each fined 10s and costs. CYCLIST FINED. Harold Wellesley Austin was fined 6s and costs for carrying two passengers on his bicycle. MOTORISTS’ BREACHES, For not having his motor oar lighted Thomas Archibald Kay was fined 10s and costs. ’ . „ , William Mowat was fined 20s and costs for failing to give notice of bis intention to turn to the right, the charge being a sequel to an accident at Karitane. . , . Nathaniel Paterson, who parked his motor car on* a fire plug, was fined 5s and costs. William George Cowan was fined 20s and costs for passing a vehicle without first ascertaining that he had a clear view. For failing to give way to traffic on the right, William Thomas Henley was fined- £2 10s and costs. An unlicensed driver, James Alexander M‘Donald was fined 5s and costs. Similarly charged, Robert Haig Newey was fined 10s and costs.
