OVERTURNED GIG

DRIVER FOUND DEAD FATALITY NEAR QWAKA At 8.15 last night James Robert Lumsden, a farmer, was found dead in his trap, which had been thrown into a 30ft gully near Owaka. Lumsden, who was a married man and farmed at the Settlement, near Owaka, visited his son-in-law during the afternoon, and after tea left at 6.30 for his home, driving his trap. Nearly two hours later he was found in his trap in a gully near his home. An inquest will be held.
