ONLY TWO KNEW WHO HE WAS __ * Masked and wearing a J.ong black cloak, a bridegroom at Kensington -Register Office, Kngland, avoided all inquiries concerning his identity. The only persons who knew it were his bride and tho registrar. The masked man was the mystery singer of the 8.8. C., well known in radio programmes, who was married to a German girl, Miss Luise Grieber, of Phillbeach Gardens, Kensington. Tho marriage was the result of a romance which started when the mystery man came off tho stage at a Chelsea theatre and bumped into Miss Grieber.

Miss Grieber told tho ‘ Daily Sketch ’ after the wedding; “I was listening to Sidney (that’s my husband’s name) singing the song ‘ Trees ’ with , his mask on. 1 was standing in the wings. He came off the stage dazed by the glare of tho limelight and nearly knocked me over. This little incident meant that we have seen each other practically every day ever since.” The masked singer, who is known as Sidney Cal I and, which is not his real name, takes great precautions to preserve his anonymity. Ho always sings -masked and wrapped in a long black cloak. Tho couple are to spend their honeymoon at the bride’s parents’ home in Lubeck.
