ROYAL ASSENT REFUSED
THREEABERHART MEASURES LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR'S ACTION Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright EDMONTON, October 5. The Lieutenant-Governor, Mr J. C. Bowen, refused Royal Assent to the three Aberhnrt measures passed by the Legislature—control of the Press, bank taxation, and an amendment to the Credit of Alberta Regulations Act—- “ until further signification thereon is received from Lord Tweedsmuir.” BOARD OF TRADE ATTITUDE CALGARY, October 5. The Board of Trade, in a telegram to the Prime Minister, urges that the Lieutenant-Governor be instructed to refuse assent to the Bank Licensing, Bank Taxation, and Press Control Acts.
