COMMUNITY SINGING

Only a few more Friday sings remain before the dose of the season. Tiiis year the community sings have been more popular than ever, and every session has been well attended. Letters of congratulation have been received from all over New Zealand from listeners-in, and those actually attending. The special items for to-morrow’s sing will be duets by Misses Rita and Millie Shrimpton. By special request, the leaders’ trio will sing, and the item will be announced later. Friday, October 15, will be the Irish day, when the sing will be held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of Fuller-Hayward) at 12.15. A good programme of new and old songs has been arranged, Mr H. P. Desmoulins will bo the leader, and Mr Alf Pettitt the pianist. Mrs M‘lntyre (who has charge of the stall) would be pleased to receive flowers.
