PARLIAMENTARY BROADCASTS.
TO TBS BDITOB. Sir, —In reply to om- letter regarding parliamentary broadcasts you state; (1) That the programmes published by you are taken from another journal. (2) “ ‘ If ’ the system is defective the fault would appear to He with the headquarters of the broadcasting service.” There is no “ if ” about the matter. The radio information published in the Dunedin Press is inaccurate, and the Press cannot evade its responsibility by merely quoting the source of such misleading information. A Press which prided itself upon the accuracy of the information which it sells to its readers would in our opinion take every precaution to ensure that such information was reliable—in the matter of parliamentary broadcasts a very simple matter.—We are, etc., Otago Labour Representation Committee. October 6, Shet us- suppose that the Otago our Representation Committee and those interested in it desired tho publication of regular news of its doings and the committee took no steps to supply it correctly. Whose would the fault be if the news was imperfectly published ? In the matter or _ parliamentary broadcasts the committee is apparently determined that its “ opinion ” shall be based on perversity.—Ed. E.S.]
