FERRIER BEATEN SYDNEY, September 14. In the amateur and professional golf championships to-day surprises were the defeat of Ferrier, 2 and 1, by the youthful D. J. Davies, and the elimination of von. Nida by Eric Cremin, 4 and 3. Other results were:— AMATEURS. Ryan defeated T. M‘Kay, 11 and 10. Tanner defeated Rae, 5 and 4. Williams defeated Headly, 7 and 6. . PROFESSIONALS. Booth defeated Howard, 6 and 5. Richardson defeatd Thomson, 4 and 3. Walker defeated W. Bolger at the thirty-ninth.
