SEAT WON BY U.A.P. CANDIDATE Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, August 8. Another Assembly by-election, fought on the issue of pre-selection, resulted on this occasion in a substantial victory for the official United Australia Party, candidate, Mr H. B. Turner, who was contesting the Gordon seat, which was rendered vacant by the resignation of Sir Philip Goldfinch. Mr Turner defeated the Independent United Australia Party candidate, Mr S. A. Storey, by 4,600 votes.
