METHODIST BIBLE CLASSES
CHOIR AND DRAMA FESTIVAL A largo number of members and friends of the Methodist Bib.e classes gathered in the Concert Chamber of tho Town Hall on Wednesday night for tho first session of the annual choir and drama competitions. The Rev. B. M. Tasker was the chairman. Ihe judges this year are Mrs O. Stephens for the one act plays and Air G. Wilkinson for the choral singing. The choirs presented hymns of their own selection. The Central Mission Choir’s choice was ‘ Fierce Raged tho Tempest ’; Dund'as Street Choir, ‘ Jesu, Lover of My Soul ’; Trinity, ‘ Hear Us, O Lord ’; and Cargill Road. ‘ This Is the Day.’ The three ono-act plays which were presented were:—‘Get Out of Your Cage,’ Trinity class; ‘The Playgoers,’ Morningto.n; ‘ Double Dealing,’ Central Mission. Thero were also two special items. Miss Dorothy M‘Kny sang the solos ‘ The Syke Boat Song ’ and _ ‘ The Boatmen,’ and Messrs W. Finnic and G. MKinlay presented the duets ‘ Arise O Sun ’ and ‘ The Sailor’s Philosophy.’ Mr R. Orr was the accompanist. Tho festival will be concluded next Wednesday night.
