RIVALRY IN BRAILLE
VOLUNTEERS HELP THE BLIND A remarkable achievement, unsurpassed in the long history of the National Institute for tho Blind, has been accomplished bv a venerable volunteer who devotes his time to making Braille copies of textbooks and other works required by blind students. During tho year ended March 31, this honorary worker, Mr William Knight, of Chingford, produced 46 volumes in manuscript Braille. These included ‘ A History of Abyssinia,’ ‘The Story of Islam,’ ‘ Nature of the Capitalist Crisis.’ ‘ The Empire in These Days.’ and ‘ Aggrey of Africa.’ He learned Braille only four years ago.
