DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE DULL, BUT FAIRLY FIRM Although values generally held recent rates, the market was lifeless this morning. Only one parcel changed hands in the room. Tho banking section was fairly steady, with Australian issues still weak. New Zealands had better buyers at £2 4s 6d, with holders at yesterday’s quotation of £2 ss. Commercials were fractionally better on buyers’ offer, but Unions remained easy with a market between £9 15s and £lO ss. South Otago Freezings moved up 5s to an inquiry at £8 5s following the announcement yesterday of a one for one bonus issue. Australian Glass stock improved further to buyers at £4 14s, while Broken Hill Proprietary shares were also marked up following the announcement of tho strike settlement. Business was recorded at £4 3s, buyers at £4 2s lOd at the close being answered 6d away. Consolidated Bricks weakened on an inquiry at 8s 3d, while G. J. Coles had an easier market. Australian mining stock held yesterday’s advance. Mount Morgans advanced further to buyers at 12s 2d, 4d below vendors’ limits. Mount Lyells were fractionally better, while Barrier companies remained Suict. Rawang Tins had a transaction at 2s sd, the market closing at 11a 6d and 15s. Local gold mining was quiet, with Clutha Rivers wanted at 2g 6d, and Molyneux Rivers at the easier price of 2s.
