Tho Town Clerk wrote in regard to the complaints made by a deputation from the association to the Reserves Committee about _ tho state of the hockey grounds this season. The matter, the letter stated, had been fully discussed, and it was considered that, apart from the weather conditions, the grounds had been played on more than was reasonable, and this was believed to bo a contributing cause of the poor grounds available. In respect to the request that the whole of Tonga Park should he allocated to hockey next season, it was stated that this matter would bo dealt with in due course.— The' letter was referred to the committee which had formed the deputation to reply. The South Canterbury Association wrote suggesting a representative match against Otago at Dunedin. The Eastern Districts Association wrote asking if it could arrange a match with Otago for August 28.—The Chairman said that a second team could be chosen to play Eastern Districts, as the senior team would bo playing Canterbury.—lt was agreed to select a second senior team and a second junior team to play Eastern Districts on. the date suggested.
