UNSETTLED AND SDUAUY The following weather forecast ’was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the sonth-t ern districts—-Dunedin, Port-Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay A rather vigorous depression, which 1 is being followed by several secondaries, covers the eastern Tasman Sea»: and is moving on to the Dominion. Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly; to north-westerly winds, reaching gale force in exposed positions,’ and later; backing to west, or in places temporarily to south-west. Weather unsettled and squally,, with some Tain. Temperatures mild to moderate. Seas becoming rough south of Nuggets, otherwise moderate to rather rough, CHANGE THREATENED. A heavy cloud bank .made its appearance to the south this morning, with every indication of a change. Dullness was still apparent at noon, whbn barometric pressure was falling at 29.55 in t and a. cold-north-westerly breese made conditions unpleasant. The respective maximum and minimum temperature readings at the’ Gardens at this time were 48.5 and 42deg, while those ove? a 24-hour period were 52.2 and 38.5 deg.
